  • Mom: What should I wear to dinner tomorrow night?
  • Dad: Just that.
  • Mom: You sure? Isn’t this too casual?
  • Dad: It’s fine. Wear what you want.
  • Mom: But I don’t have any clothes to wear.
  • Me: Weren’t you doing laundry a few days ago?
  • Mom: You don’t understand. I haven’t bought any new clothes for two years.

This is What Happens When You Don’t Feed Dryer Sheets to Your Dryer

The dryer ate yet another one of my all-purpose white Gap camisoles. The straps got wedged in the lint catcher, and after a good hour of tumbling, they are now stretched beyond wearability. The good news is that the camis are on sale for $10 each. The bad news is that I’m horribly broke.

I’ll be ordering a few anyway with my next paycheck. The white cami is such an essential in my wardrobe; I layer it with everything.
